SUMMER SOLSTICE (3 OF 3) - JUNE 23 = THE RITE OF LUNA SPIRIT
The wish of fertility around Midsummer time wouldn't be complete without many rites. Feminine youth that pick flowers to lie upon in search of a prosperous future, the burning of bonfires to celebrate the energy that the Sun provides and protection it gives along with an individual rite of passage.
My Nordic roots of memory remind me of the celebrations marking the anniversary of the dark of night on June 24th, when evil forces and witches flew through the skies in conflict. This battle points not to the unification of, though moreover the diversity of what many couple together without thinking. The flight of pagan Goddesses may not be so much literally but spiritually, few understand this - such is the legacy of ancient truth – lost in the tale of his story?
Too long a time has passed since these vixens were acclaimed as righteous daughters of nature, corrupted by the domination of a race of jealous opposition, whose goal was to oppress through physical strength. A time to acknowledge such and for the ladies of Luna to replenish their life-force energy – there will be a time of need again, and when we do their aura will need to be at it best

AIR Aromatic essence of delight (for to inhale and ingest)
FIRE Small, constructed with care – acknowledge astral energy
EARTH Fruits of the forest, (selected) Flora and fauna, Terra firma
WATER Purified liquid (in which to cleanse the engrained dirt of past misfortune) Along with the essence that candles bring, musical accompaniment is often best served by natural method that is vocal chant and or home-made instruments of simple tones
it is vital to create the right degree of ambience to attain the fullest of outcome.
Actions: Dance, movement freedom from inhibitions
Words: Research the word spell for such have strength, influence and power
Invocation: to the focus of particular God/Goddess of choice
Tunes: Softly sung verse of praise
Chants: Mantra of unified and measured tempo
Harmony: Sharing of physical and spirit

The celebration of ancient times ritually performed to sway Mother Nature for a fruitful harvest may be.
I’m thankful to have experienced such a festivity. Sombre in practice, euphoric in intensity and lasting in memory
Though whilst the celebrations are uplifting and growth is the word of the day, one is also mindful of the balance that remains.

SUMMER SOLSTICE (2 OF 3) - JUNE 22 = THE LOST STRENGTH OF LORE
The time when reflection combines both spiritually and mentally thanks to the herbal intoxication of lore. When the rites of near lost traditions, enable one to experience both visual and physical pleasure.
Once upon a long ago in a land of fairytale, where spirits roamed in liberty and in harmonious melody with nature, the dragons and the unicorns were known throughout the land. Green fields, Blue skies, clear rivers and Mountains shining with the twinkling of Golden horizon.
Elfin sprites appear out of the corner of the eye with magical sparkle and a glimpse of an otherworldly place can be seen if one opens their mind and embraces the best of imaginative dreams. Though many are blinded by a reality of convention, surely this is a time to expand one’s vision of the mind and realise that so many achievements come from an inspiration that cannot be described.
Times of lore point to strength from within, we need to see beyond the normality and reality of modern day. Escaping to the realms of fantasy should not be dispelled with ridicule, though embraced with enthusiasm though maybe it could do with a bit of help?
From Billy to you - Wiccan Meal of Strength:
(Traditional and Timeless)
Rømmegrøt (Sour Cream Porridge)
This is often served with cured meats and flatbread (crisp bread) - this recipe serves 4
Ingredients 1 pint thick sour cream 12 tablespoons flour 1 pint milk Salt Preparation and creation
Boil the sour cream, covered, for 2 minutes. Add half of the flour and stir carefully to bring the butter to the surface. Skim it off, reserve it and keep it warm.Stir in the rest of the flour and add the milk. Simmer the porridge for 5-6 minutes. Season to taste with salt
(If one prefers a slightly tangy sour flavor, half of the milk added may be sour milk).Sour cream porridge is eaten sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon and with the reserved warm melted butter. Some people also like to add raisins on top. Red juice, such as raspberry or currant, is usually served with the porridge.

SUMMER SOLSTICE: The Midsummer period. Some say the hub of the year, the time when the sun is at his maximum elevation, when the strength of Fires power is at its Strongest
SUMMER SOLSTICE (1 OF 3) - JUNE 21 = THE LONGEST DAY
This time of year see the Summer solstice arrive again। The longest day of the year allows the Sun to shine to its most illuminating. For Mother Nature to glow at her brightest and give an opportunity to ingest the warmth of Earths star. Strolling through and within one’s woodland of choice, gives a comfort that can be enthralling - if one believes.
To bask in such glory is a pleasure that does not necessitate company, though if experienced with others can be a joy unreserved. Like with trouble, sharing such exuberance can be euphoric. Finding a soul-mate within a world of such unity is something that we all search for- maybe we need a bit of help along the way. The assembly of items that enable the luxury of enjoyment are perhaps best left to those who know by the feel, the right elements that provide such a brew of distinction.
For those who gather ingredients to create recipes of herbal refreshment, it is a time when such potions are at their most potent. It is a time of refreshment and reinvigoration, such concoctions should be embraced. Midsummer is the acme of our sunshine (in spirit if not radiance) and shows the way for those most attuned – I desire and am happy to be of such persuasion.
I would like to think that it is within us all though as time passes I feel moreover that the illumination of realisation may be limited to the few.
